On Thursday, March 28, Managing Director of Strategy Erica Brunner and Parent Advisory Council Co-Chair Renee Ulloa spoke with Chris Lovett on Boston Neighborhood Network News about childcare
During the segment, Renee highlighted the systemic challenges that many parents — including herself — face in navigating resources around childcare and employment. Due to the lack of availability of full-time childcare, Renee has been forced to turn down employment opportunities that were unable to accommodate her limited schedule. At the same time, transitioning from a shelter to subsidized HomeBase housing forced her to relocate to the South Shore and leave the part-time job that she previously held.
As we look to solutions to these difficult challenges, Erica discussed the work of a diverse statewide coalition that PJ is proud to be a part of, which is developing comprehensive solutions to childcare to ensure that every family has access to high-quality early education and care.
