Food, rent, utilities, activities for children who are home from school — plain and simple, families need you.

Last week, we announced the It Takes a Village Emergency Fund to provide parents and families with financial support for essential items. Thanks to your support, we surpassed our initial goal of $10,000.

But, we have more requests than we can fund and we don’t want to turn people away. Help us raise another $12,000 today to provide emergency relief to 100 families.

The more we raise, the more families we can help, with 100% of your donation going immediately to families in need.

As a father of three and the leader of a non-profit that works directly with parents, I know that it takes a village to raise a family.

I also know that the rapid spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) has turned life as we know it on its head. Families are struggling to make ends meet. Workers are being laid off or seeing their hours greatly reduced. Parents are struggling to work without childcare.

At Parenting Journey, we recognize that there is not a “one-size fits all approach” for families facing this kind of emergency — a speed bump for some is a cavern for others.

That is why today we are launching the It Takes a Village Emergency Fund, to do our part to help put resources on the table for families.

También sé que la rápida propagación del COVID-19 (Coronavirus) ha transformado la vida tal como la conocemos.

Familias están luchando para llegar a fin de mes. Trabajadores han perdido sus empleos o tienen horas reducidas considerablemente. Padres están luchando para trabajar sin cuidado infantil.

En Parenting Journey, reconocemos que no existe un “enfoque único para todas las familias” que enfrentan este tipo de emergencia: un obstáculo para algunos es una caverna para otros.

Es por eso que hoy estamos lanzando el Fondo de emergencia “Se necesita un pueblo”, para hacer nuestra parte para ayudar a poner recursos sobre la mesa para familias.

Nuestro objetivo inicial hoy es recaudar $ 10,000 para ayudar a 50 familias. Cuanto más recaudemos, más familias podremos ayudar, con el 100% de su donación destinada inmediatamente a las familias necesitadas. Y un donante generoso ha acordado igualar las donaciones hechas a este fondo, haciendo que su contribución vaya aún más allá.
