What you’ll learn:
Learn first-hand how to use our experiential curriculum to run Parenting Journey 1 groups for your organization. The Parenting Journey 1 Facilitator Training covers the entire Parenting Journey 1 curriculum, and allows participants to practice key facilitator skills needed to run the group. The program helps parents explore the connection between how they were parented and how they are raising their own children while also promoting their own self-care strategies. After training, trainees may return to their organizations and begin conducting Parenting Journey 1 groups with the parents they support.
Currently, the Virtual Parenting Journey 1 Facilitator Training is available in two formats: a consecutive five-day format and a six-day format spread over three weeks, with sessions held twice a week. The six-day course encompasses all the learning objectives of the five-day, but has the added benefits of including the clinical theories and approaches that inform the curriculum; emphasis on fidelity to the model; and additional opportunities to practice facilitating the curriculum content.
The fee includes the training and access to a digital facilitator toolkit which includes the group curriculum, materials, and other resources.

Implementation Support Coaching
To help navigate the common barriers that individuals and organizations face as they introduce programming, Parenting Journey is offering Implementation Support Coaching (ISC) to support new Parenting Journey 1 facilitators as they launch Parenting Journey programming within their services and with the families they partner with. ISC is led by Parenting Journey Faculty, and composed of 12 hours of coaching across 8 weekly sessions and is designed to address the common challenges of implementation, including but not limited to:
- Planning, Marketing, and Recruitment
- Data and Program Evaluation
- Intake Processes
- Facilitation and Group Dynamics
- Review of Session-Specific Purpose, Objectives, and Facilitation Skills
- Debriefing and Reflection for Future Growth
With this comprehensive coaching, facilitators are more likely to integrate Parenting Journey into service delivery, ensuring families continue to access strengths-based, trauma-informed programming that supports their growth and well-being
