Introduction

Life evolves for everyone, and that includes us here at Parenting Journey. We recently went through an organizational update, and we are excited to unveil a revised mission, and a new look and website! We have shifted from giving direct services to parents to making a more widespread impact on caregivers and children by providing facilitation and implementation support to agencies and organizations. 

The Evolution of Parenting Journey

While the scope of our work is changing, our dedication to our mission of helping families thrive has not. Through these changes, centering our efforts around partnerships with those engaged in critical work in local communities, we can use our resources to train more facilitators, allowing us to expand our reach to strengthen more families together. 

Mission and Vision

We envision a world where every family has the opportunity to be their best, a future where proven practices inform policies that unleash each family’s unique potential. At Parenting Journey, we believe strong families lead to stronger communities. Our mission is to fundamentally transform family and community well-being by centering on strengths-based, trauma-informed approaches that help everyone thrive.

Our approaches are modeled on our NEST philosophy, meaning they are:

• Non-didactic: programs are not aimed at teaching how to parent; they help to identify the strengths needed to parent.
• Evidence-based: our core program has proven to help parents transition from negative to positive feelings about themselves and life in general. 
• Strengths-focused: programs hone in on what parents are already good at and amplify it rather than focusing on weaknesses.
• Trauma-informed: programs are designed to acknowledge the impact of past experiences and create a safe space for growth.

An exciting part of Parenting Journey’s update is our new look and website. Bringing a warmer, welcoming visual direction to life, complete with language around our new direction and resources for all family services professionals.
