PRESS – Roundup: Dorchester Reporter, Sampan cover Marie St. Fleur joining the Parenting Journey team
As a staunch champion for families, Marie St. Fleur has seen first-hand the trials and tribulations of raising children in high poverty communities, in particular the impact of the high cost of childcare and housing,” said Parenting Journey Executive Director Imari Paris Jeffries.
St. Fleur will partner with Parenting Journey from September 2018 to February 2019. During her time as State Representative, she was engaged in research and advocating for early childhood education initiatives. While working with Parenting Journey, she will lend her combined expertise of the legislative process and early childhood education to inform Parenting Journey’s policy agenda, addressing the intersection of economic justice and parenting. St. Fleur will also work with Parenting Journey’s Parent Advisory Council (PAC)—a group of parent activists that have participated in at least one Parenting Journey program. She will help guide PAC as they advocate for policy solutions that support affordable childcare and housing.
