Thanks to your support, the Massachusetts House of Representatives added critical funding for Parenting Journey groups to their budget proposal!
Now, we need your help again to ensure we secure this important investment for families across the Commonwealth!
State Senator Joe Boncore (Boston) is sponsoring an amendment — cosponsored by State Senator Patricia Jehlen (Somerville) — to the state Senate’s Ways & Means Committee budget proposal that will support Parenting Journey’s parent groups.
We need you to ask your state senator to co-sponsor Sen. Boncore’s amendment today to support securing this funding in the Senate budget.
Here’s how you can let your Massachusetts state senator know that Parenting Journey is important to you — and important to families and communities:
- Click here to look up your state legislators. Then, click on your state senator’s name to find their contact information.
- Use the sample message below to email them and request their support. Please be sure to fill in any blank spaces and consider customizing the message to share why Parenting Journey is important to you.
- After you send an email, call their office and ask their staff if your senator will support Sen. Boncore’s Parenting Journey budget amendment.
This funding is critical to ensuring that we can continue to deliver the same level of support for parents, especially through our new specialized groups for parents in recovery and parents who have recently migrated to the US and are adapting to a new culture.

Dear Sen. ______,
I am writing to request that you sign on to Sen. Boncore’s Parenting Journey budget amendment. To be listed as a cosponsor, please contact Anthony Gesualdi at anthony.gesualdi@masenate.gov.
Parenting Journey provides evidence-based, multi-generational therapeutic support groups for parents that strengthen families and build stronger communities. This funding is critical to ensuring that Parenting Journey is able to continue to support parents and families — particularly those who are recent immigrants, in recovery, and/or are involved with the Department of Children & Families or the courts.
Parenting Journey’s curricula is translated into 7 languages, including American Sign Language, and with over 500 non-profit partners across the country and internationally, Parenting Journey has supported thousands of families with over 40,000 hours of professional training provided to 2,100 human service professionals.
I would appreciate it if you would let me know whether you have added your name to this important amendment.
